How to fix iPhone 12 mini Bluetooth issues

Here’s how to fix your iPhone 12 mini bluetooth Problems:

Is your iPhone Bluetooth turned on?

Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on on your iPhone. To turn on Bluetooth: head over to Settings > Bluetooth.

Is your Bluetooth accessory turned on?

Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory is on and connected to power (or charged). If it uses batteries, make sure its batteries are good.

Is your Bluetooth accessory compatible with your iPhone?

Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory supports Bluetooth and is compatible with your iPhone.

Is your Bluetooth accessory discoverable?

Ensure your accessory is discoverable. If you do not know how to do this, check the manufacturer’s documentation.

Make sure that your iPhone and your accessory are close together

Move your iPhone closer to the Bluetooth accessory to see if this helps.

Turn off Bluetooth and turn it on again

The easiest way to fix most Bluetooth problems on your iPhone 12 mini is to toggle Bluetooth off and on again. This is particularly effective if your iPhone 12 mini won’t pair with a Bluetooth accessory. It’ll also help if you accidentally disabled Bluetooth on your iPhone. Go to settings > Bluetooth.

Restart your iPhone

One of the most effective way to troubleshoot iPhone 12 mini Bluetooth issues is to restart your device. If your iPhone 12 mini isn’t working with a Bluetooth accessory, restart the phone before trying the pairing process.

To restart your iPhone 12 mini: Press and hold the power (side) and volume up or down buttons together until you see the power off slider. Then drag the slider from left to right. Wait until your device is fully turned off. Then press and hold the power button until the Apple logo appears.

Remove and re-add Bluetooth devices

Even if your iPhone 12 mini won’t connect with a Bluetooth accessory right now, it still remembers information about the accessory from the last time it connected. Sometimes, you need to delete this data to fix your Bluetooth problems.

You can do that by Forgetting a Bluetooth device. Here’s how:

Go to Settings > Bluetooth > tap the i next to a device > Forget This Device, then re-add it to fix this most common problem.

Enable Bluetooth for Third-Party Apps

If you can pair with a Bluetooth accessory, but you still can’t use it with any apps on your iPhone 12 mini, you might need to change your Bluetooth Privacy settings. Here’s how:

Go to Settings > Privacy > Bluetooth. Tap the toggle to enable Bluetooth for any apps you’re trying to use your accessory with.

Please note: Developers can use Bluetooth access to gather information about you, so you should only enable it for apps you trust.

Restart the Bluetooth device

Follow the manufacturer instructions to restart your Bluetooth accessory.

Update iOS

It’s possible the Bluetooth isn’t working on your iPhone 12 mini due to a bug in iOS. When this is the case, all you need to do is install the latest iOS update to fix it—provided Apple has released a patch for that bug already.

Head to Settings > General > Software Update to check for new updates. Download and install any that are available.

Update your accessory’s firmware

If your Bluetooth accessory has an upgradeable firmware, make sure that it’s up to date. If you don’t know how, check with it’s manufacturer.

Reset Network Settings on Your iPhone

On your iPhone, head over to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. And follow the onscreen instructions. Please note that doing to will erase previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, and your other network settings.

Reset Your Bluetooth Accessory to Factory Settings

Sometimes it isn’t your iPhone that’s acting up, it’s your Bluetooth accessory. This could be the case for everything from a car stereo to a set of Apple AirPods.

If your iPhone 12 mini still can’t connect to a Bluetooth accessory—or if it doesn’t work properly when you do connect it—follow the user instructions to reset the Bluetooth accessory back to its factory settings.

Erase and Reset Your iPhone

It’s time for the drastic measure; if Bluetooth still isn’t working, you need to totally erase and reset your iPhone to rule out any underlying software problems.

Be sure to back up your iPhone first, otherwise you’ll lose all the data from it.

To erase your iPhone and reset the software:

Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings.

Get a Hardware Repair

Unfortunately, if you followed all the troubleshooting steps above but Bluetooth still isn’t working on your iPhone 12 mini, it means you’re experiencing a hardware problem. Contact Apple for support and service options.
