How to fix iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth not working

Last Updated: July 13, 2021 by Kevin Shaw

is iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth not working? Try one of these troubleshooting suggestions.

Whether you’re popping on some wireless earbuds before running a race, banging out a quick but important email with a Bluetooth keyboard, or trying to amp up a party by streaming a killer playlist to a portable speaker, there’s never a good time for your wireless tech to fail. And yet, from time to crucial time, it does.

If there was a wire, you’d wiggle it. If there was a plug, you’d pull it out and put it back in. But what do you do when your problem is with the wireless wizardry of Bluetooth devices?

Well, if you’re in such a situation, you’re not alone. It has happened virtually to everyone using any Bluetooth device, including some of us at iPhoneArena. That makes us bring up this ultimate guide on how to fix Bluetooth not working on iPhone 12 Pro Max.

If your iPhone 12 Pro Max won’t connect to Bluetooth , there are a number of ways to fix it.

You should first make sure Bluetooth is turned on and try connecting your device in the Bluetooth settings.
If your iPhone 12 Pro Max still won’t connect to Bluetooth , you can try deleting other devices from Bluetooth settings, updating your iOS software, resetting your network settings, or restarting your iPhone entirely.

Bluetooth is one of the great innovations with a smartphone a quick network that allows you to connect your iPhone to everything from TV, to a computer, to your car’s stereo.

However, if it isn’t working for one reason or another, Bluetooth is worthless.

Here are a few ways to troubleshoot your iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth connection.

Make sure Bluetooth is turned on

The first step when encountering iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth issues is to ensure your phone is transmitting its Bluetooth signal properly.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap on Bluetooth.

  3. Make sure the button next to Bluetooth is toggled green. If not, tap on the button next to Bluetooth so it turns green.

Make sure your device is connected to Bluetooth

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap on Bluetooth.

  3. When the Bluetooth menu is opened, you should get a list of all the devices you’ve connected with before. If the particular device you want to connect to is not shown, make sure the device is set for pairing so it shows up in the list.

  4. Tap on the device so it moves from “Other Devices” to “My Devices.”

  5. Then tap on the device so it changes from “Not Connected” to “Connected.”

Rule Out Problems Related To The Device You Are Connecting To

If you find iPhone 12 Pro Max bluetooth not working after trying the above steps, it is essential to rule out that the device is not the cause of the problem. To check if the device is working or not, connect it to another device like a different iPhone or a laptop and check if it works properly on the other devices. If the Bluetooth device is working fine on other phones or tablets, then the problem lies in your iPhone, and further troubleshooting should be done on the iPhone. But suppose the device does not connect on a different phone or another device either. In that case, the problem lies with the device, and you may have to follow the device manual for troubleshooting the device, or you must take it to the manufacturer to get it checked or replaced. This is a critical step to ensure that further troubleshooting of the phone becomes a sensible step when looking for solutions for iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth problems.

Remove all the paired devices and repair them.

Sometimes Bluetooth can have an issue connecting with too many devices, or you can’t tell which device is the one you want, and you have to delete others.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap on Bluetooth.

  3. Tap on other devices to disconnect. If it’s a device you will never use again, tap on the “i” button and then select Forget This Device.

Update your software to the most recent iOS

Similar to some other software-related issues on iPhones, a bug in the software may cause your Bluetooth device not to connect properly. Here, you may need to install any pending update for your iPhone. To do this, kindly follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Scroll down to and tap on General.

  3. The second item should be Software Update. Tap on this to update. If there is a red circle in it, there is an update waiting.

  4. Tap on it to update to the most recent iOS.

Now try connecting to your Bluetooth device to see if it works. Continue to other solutions below if it’s still not working.

Reset your network settings

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap on General.

  3. Scroll down to the bottom and tap on Reset.

  4. Tap on “Reset Network Settings.”

Restart your iPhone

Sometimes your iPhone simply needs to be turned off and on again to fix issues.

If the above steps don’t work, you should try turning your iPhone off and on again to refresh the software. Try connecting to Bluetooth again after you’ve done this.
