Last Updated: November 1, 2022 by iPhoneArena Staff

Is your iPad Pro Bluetooth not working? You are not alone. When you want to use a Bluetooth accessory with your iPad Pro, it can be super aggravating when it doesn’t work. Whether you just picked up a new set of earphones or a wireless keyboard, Bluetooth should make the setup of these devices easy. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case. Like it or not, Bluetooth problems can occur with your iPad Pro and here we’ll show you ways to fix them.

Bluetooth is an indispensable part of any modern tablet. The short-range wireless protocol allows an iPad to communicate with a wide variety of different accessories—everything from the wireless keyboard to wireless headphones and more.

But just like with any other modern technology, Bluetooth isn’t perfect. For whatever reason, you may experience bluetooth issues on your iPad Pro. Let’s take a look at some iPad Pro Bluetooth solutions when your connection isn’t working.

Why Does Bluetooth Issue Occur on iPad Pro?

Bluetooth issues on iPad Pro occur due to a number of reasons such as software bugs, outdated software, and the ill-functioning of the Bluetooth accessories. Besides, the problem could also crop up if the Bluetooth device isn’t fully charged or if you have restricted the companion app from using Bluetooth on your iPad. Taking all these possible causes into account, we have mentioned solutions that can resolve the infamous iPad Pro Bluetooth not working issue.

Some common Bluetooth related issues that many iPad Pro users are reporting include:

  • Bluetooth not turning on
  • Bluetooth unavailable or unable to connect to the Bluetooth accessory or car audio
  • Bluetooth devices suddenly disconnecting
  • Crackling sound during call
  • Unable to initialize calls over Bluetooth
  • Not able to connect to new Bluetooth devices
  • When connected to AirPods or car stereo, music tracks skip or stutter

in this article, you will get to see multiple fixes for these kind of problems. Let’s see how to fix iPad Pro Bluetooth issues.

iPad Pro Bluetooth Not Working: Troubleshooting Tips

Here are some steps to fix a problematic iPad Pro Bluetooth connection.

1. Update iPadOS Software

Keeping your iPad software up-to-date is important for a number of reasons. It’s vital for security and adds all the latest iPadOS features to your iPad. If you’re having Bluetooth issues on your iPad Pro, the first place to head is Settings > General > Software Update.

You’ll either be prompted to update or see that your iPad is using the most recent iOS software available.

2. Toggle Your iPad Bluetooth and Restart iPad

The next step for solving your iPad Pro Bluetooth issues is to toggle your device’s Bluetooth connection and then hard restart it. For Bluetooth, go to Settings > Bluetooth and then disable the switch at the top of the page. An even faster way is to simply say ”Hey Siri, turn off Bluetooth.” Apple’s virtual assistant will take care of the rest.

Then you can hard restart your iPad.

To force restart iPad Pro with home button:

Press the power button and home button for 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

to force restart iPad pro with Face ID:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

3. Disconnect From a Bluetooth Device

Another step to try is disconnecting and reconnecting to a problematic Bluetooth device. Once again, head to Settings > Bluetooth. Select the specific Bluetooth device and then choose Disconnect.

After that, it’s best to turn off the Bluetooth device and then turn it back on to see if it will reconnect.

4. Forget a Device and Pair Again

If that doesn’t help, a more advanced fix is to have your iPad completely forget the Bluetooth device and then go through the pairing process once again.

In the Settings > Bluetooth menu, select the device. On the next page, choose Forget This Device. Then go through the pairing process with the Bluetooth device again.

5. Try to Pair the Bluetooth Device to Another iPad

A good way to determine whether your Bluetooth issue lies with the iPad Pro or the accessory is trying to pair the device to another iPad. If that isn’t successful, it’s safe to assume that the issue lies with the Bluetooth device instead of your iPad.

6. Reset Network Settings

If you suffer from continued Bluetooth issues on your iPad Pro, you can also try to reset network settings. Just to note, before taking this step, along with completely wiping all Bluetooth information on your iPad, this will erase other network settings including known Wi-Fi networks and VPN configurations.

For iPadOS 15 or later: Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

For iPadOS 14 or earlier: Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Note: This will also reset your Wi-Fi networks and passwords, mobile network settings, and virtual private network (VPN) and access point name (APN) settings.

After that, try to pair a Bluetooth device once more.

7. Restore as a New iPad

A final step to take is restoring your device, which is essentially a factory reset of your iPad. This will erase all content and settings to restore your iPad like it was out of the box.

Go to Settings > General > transfer or Reset iPad and choose Erase All Content and Settings. Your iPad passcode is required to start the process. Make sure you’ve backed up any important information to iCloud.

8. Time to Call Apple

If these steps don’t help your iPad Pro Bluetooth issues, it’s time to call Apple to discuss repair options.

If your device is within the usual one-year warranty period, or you’ve purchased AppleCare+, a fix should cost little to nothing. A great way to contact Apple for tech support is the Apple Support app.
