Fix SIM card not working on iPhone 13

Is SIM card not working on your iPhone 13? The iPhone 13 not detecting sim card problem usually occurs when the SIM card is not inserted properly. It is the most common reason for the iPhone 13 no Sim card installed error, but it is not the only reason why your device show this error. No SIM card installed can mean problems with your iPhone software too. There is a chance that the SIM card is inserted correctly, but your iPhone is not reading it because of software corruption. No sim card installed iphone 13 error could also point towards your Device’s inability to check for a network. This article explains how you can fix this error for good!

Fixes for SIM Card not working on iPhone 13

If your iPhone 13 is displaying the No Sim, follow the steps below to fix the issue. Note: Information on this article applies to iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Check the SIM and Tray

When the SIM card is not placed securely, it may end up causing iPhone 13 no sim card installed error. Try to reinsert it and make sure it’s seated properly. After a few seconds (wait up to a minute), the No SIM Card Installed error should disappear and your regular bars and carrier name should re-appear at the top of the iPhone’s screen.

If it doesn’t, remove the SIM and check if the card or the slot is dirty. If they are, gently wipe your SIM card and tray. If you see dust, blow dust out of your SIM and tray. Then place the SIM and turn on your iPhone to see if it is working.

Restart iPhone

If your iPhone 13 doesn’t recognize the SIM after trying the above solution, try the all-purpose fix for many iPhone problems: a restart. You’d be surprised how many issues are solved by restarting. Press and hold the side and the volume up (or down) buttons until you see the power off slider and then drag the slider. Then wait for about one minute and press and hold the side button until the the Apple logo appears.

Toggle Airplane Mode

If you’re still seeing the SIM error, your next step is to turn Airplane Mode on and then off again. Doing this can reset the iPhone’s connection to cellular networks and may resolve the problem. Go to Settings and turn on Airplane Mode. Wait a few seconds. Then turn off again.

Update iOS

If you find SIM not working on iPhone 13 after trying the above solutions, check to see if there’s an update to the iOS, the operating system that runs on the iPhone. You’ll want to connect to a Wi-Fi network, or a computer, and have a decent amount of battery life before you do this. Go to Settings > General > Software update. Install any available updates and see if that solves the problem.

Check for an iPhone Carrier settings update

Another cause of the iPhone 13 not recognising sim card could be that your carrier has changed the settings for how your phone connects to its network and you need to install them. Navigate to Settings > General > About. If there is an update, a popup alert will appear. If there is an update, tap download and install.

Test for a malfunctioning SIM card

If your iPhone 13 still says it has no SIM, your SIM card could have a hardware problem. One way to test this is by inserting a SIM card from another cell phone that you know works fine.

If the No SIM Card Installed warning disappears after inserting another SIM, then your iPhone SIM is broken. You can get a new one from Apple or your phone company.

Reset your network settings

If you are still experiencing an invalid SIM card error on your iPhone 13, it could be due to a software glitch within your phone’s network settings. This includes WiFi, Bluetooth, cellular data, and any VPN you might have. The easiest way to resolve this is by resetting your network settings. Please note: this action will delete any WiFi passwords you have saved, so be sure to note down any important passwords for later use. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Contact Apple support

If your iPhone 13 still doesn’t detect your SIM card, you have a problem that you can’t fix. Contact Apple Support for help.

Hopefully the above steps solved your iPhone 13 SIM card problems. Did you manage to solve the SIM Card not working problem on your iPhone 13? Drop a comment and let us know which fix worked for you.
