Last Updated: November 1, 2022 by Kevin Shaw

If you’re having issues with Zoom not working on iPhone 14 Pro, we understand your frustration and are here to help. In this article, I’ll explain why Zoom is not working on your iPhone 14 Pro and show you how to fix the problem.

Zoom is a web and app-based service that offers the ability to chat, make a phone call, host a webinar, create a virtual conference room, and host or join online audio and video meetings with people around the world. If Zoom is not working on your iPhone 14 Pro, here are the most common troubleshooting steps to get back up and running as quickly as possible.

How to fix Zoom not working ON iPhone 14 Pro

These tried and tested tips can help you fix the Zoom app not working on iPhone 14 Pro issue.

Check to see if Zoom is down

Zoom not working on iPhone 14 Pro could be due to many issues, but let’s start with the one that might save you hours of troubleshooting. While not all that common, Zoom isn’t exempt from outages. There is a chance Zoom is down, and checking the service’s status is simple.

head over to zoom’s status site and then make sure all the systems including the Zoom iPhone are working as usual.

Of course, you can also use a third-party service like DownDetector. This page collects consumer reports to figure out if a service is down. There’s even a live outage map to identify local blackouts.

If Zoom is down, the only solution is to sit tight and wait it out. The service usually comes back online relatively soon, so you shouldn’t be waiting for too long.

Close the Zoom app and reopen it

Is Zoom not working only for you? Then you have to start looking at possible local issues. Sometimes apps can go out of whack, and something as simple as closing the app and reopening it, might fix the problem. Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to bring up the app switcher. Find the Zoom app and swipe up on it to close the app.

Try restarting your iPhone

Oh, the good ol’ restart solution. Doing this fixes about 90% of all my tech problems. Try restarting your iPhone 14 Pro when zoom isn’t working. This often gets things back up and running. This can usually be done by pressing and holding the Side button and either of the volume buttons. Drag the power off slider from left to right to turn off your iPhone.

Update the app

Sometimes, having an older version of an application may cause issues. If problems persist, you want to ensure you’re running the latest app version. Just check if there are any Zoom updates available.

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Tap on your profile image in the top-right corner.
  3. Find Zoom. If there’s an available update, you should see an Update button next to it. Tap on it.
  4. Alternatively, you can select Update all.

Update iOS

Similarly, running an older software version of iOS may also be the reason for Zoom not working on iPhone 14 Pro. Just check if there are any available updates.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go into General.
  3. Hit Software Update.
  4. You’ll be told if there is an update available. Suppose there is; select Download and install.
  5. Follow instructions and let the phone update.
  6. Try using Zoom again!

Check your internet connection

Another reason for Zoom not working on iPhone 14 Pro might be that your internet is down. Go into any other app or website and see if it’s working. If it isn’t, chances are you’re having internet issues. Those operating over Wi-Fi or LAN can check the router and see if it’s connected to the internet. You should probably try restarting the router too.

If you’re using cellular data, you might want to see if your data connection is on:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go into Cellular.
  3. Toggle Cellular data on.

Uninstall and reinstall Zoom app

Finally, if all else fails, it might be possible to solve your problem by uninstalling the Zoom app and reinstalling it. This may eliminate any glitchy software that was interfering with your ability to use the app. Remember that you’ll need to sign in again using your account credentials.

Camera or audio not working

Maybe Zoom is working, but certain parts of it aren’t. If you joined a meeting and your mic isn’t working, chances are you accidentally closed an automatic pop-up that appears at launch. Rejoin the meeting and pick Join with device audio, instead. If it doesn’t show up, you can also do it from within the meeting. Just select Join audio in the bottom-left corner and click on Join with device audio.

You should also make sure the app has access to your device’s microphone. Go to Settings app> Privacy > Microphone. Now, turn on the switch next to the Zoom app.

Another common issue is forgetting you’re muted. Sometimes the host mutes people upon entrance to avoid unnecessary noise. Tap on the Audio icon in the meeting controls to unmute yourself. The same applies to the camera; it may be turned off by default. Click the camera icon in the screen to turn it on.

Besides, if you didn’t allow the app to use your iPhone’s camera while setting it up, remove the restriction. To do so, go to Settings > Privacy > Camera. Ensure that the switch next to Zoom is turned on.

Fixed Zoom not working on iPhone 14 Pro issue

If Zoom is not working on iPhone 14 Pro, these steps should help you troubleshoot any problems.

If you confirm that the Zoom service is working by checking Downdetector, you can close and reopen the app to see if that fixes the problem.
You should also check to see if Zoom works on another device; if not, you might have an issue with your internet connection.
Logging out and back into the app may also help. Finally, try uninstalling and reinstalling Zoom altogether.
