How to fix Spotify not working on iPhone 14 Pro

These tried and tested tips can help you fix the Spotify app not working on iPhone 14 Pro issue.

1. Check Your Spotify Subscription

Has your Spotify subscription run out, perhaps? With all the subscriptions people have these days, it can be easy to overlook renewing something. Go ahead and check if your Spotify subscription is still active. If it isn’t, you can renew it with a couple of clicks.

2. Is Spotify down right now?

If your subscription is active, then there’s a good chance the problem is at Spotify’s end. The first thing you can try is using Spotify on another device to see if it’s working. If Spotify is fine on another iPhone, iPad, or computer, then you know the problem is with your iPhone 14 Pro.

You can visit a website like Down Detector. This site will let you know if there are any issues with Spotify, in general. If there are issues on Spotify’s side, there’s nothing you can do but wait it out.

3. Close and reopen Spotify app

If the service works at Spotify’s end, the next solution is to close and reopen the app.

Swipe up from the very bottom to the center of the screen to bring up the app switcher. To close out of the Spotify app, use your finger to swipe up on the app until it disappears from the App Switcher.

4. Update the Spotify app

While being an update or two behind usually won’t cause any issues, apps may stop working correctly if you’re several updates behind. This is especially the case with more significant updates that make big changes in the way things work within the app. It’s always a good practice to keep your apps as up-to-date as possible. Simply go to the App Store To see if an update is available.

Launch the App Store app and tap on your Account Icon in the top right corner of the screen. Scroll down to the list of apps and check if a Spotify update is available. Tap Update to the right of Spotify if an update is available.

5. Restart your iPhone

Spotify is still not working on iPhone 14 Pro? I swear, restarting the device fixes most of my tech issues. It may sound like a silly thing to try, but some magic goes on when you restart your iPhone. It’s one of the most recommended troubleshooting solutions, and it happens to work more often than not. Just give it a try!

To restart your iPhone, press and hold either the volume up or volume down button and the side button simultaneously. Release both buttons when you see “slide to power off” on the screen, then drag the power icon from left to right.
Wait about a minute before turning your iPhone back on, just to make sure that all of the programs that were running on your device have a chance to completely shut down. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

6. Check your internet connection

Another reason for Spotify not working on iPhone 14 Pro may simply be because your internet connection is faulty. Go into another app or website and see if things are working correctly elsewhere. If nothing in your phone works, then chances are your internet is down.

Try restarting your router. Also, check your account with the internet provider and see if everything is as it should be. Forgetting to pay a bill happens to the best of us, and sometimes automatic payments can fail.

Those using Cellular Data may also want to check if the data connection is active:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go into Cellular.
  3. Toggle Cellular data on.

7. Turn Off VPN.

If you are using VPN services, try to turn it off if Spotify is not working on your iPhone 14 Pro. Although VPNs are great for security reasons, they can also cause problems with your network.

VPN services work by masking your IP address with a dummy one from their servers. This process makes it hard for your device to communicate with Spotify’s servers, explaining why Spotify is not working on iPhone 14 Pro.

Go to the settings app and toggle off VPN.

8. Update iOS

Running an older software version of iOS may also be the reason for Spotify not working on iPhone 14 Pro. Just check if there are any available updates.

To check for an iOS update on your iPhone 14 Pro, start the Settings app and tap General -> Software Update. If an update is available, tap Download and Install.

9. Clean up some storage space

Those having trouble downloading songs may want to check how much space their smartphones have. With so many photos, songs, and videos on our devices, it can be easy to fill up the storage and leave no space for new Spotify song downloads.

10. Is your volume down?

This may seem like the silliest problem, but it doesn’t hurt to check. After all, accidentally lowering your volume is a common issue. Just hit the volume up button and see if that’s why your songs weren’t playing!

11. Delete & Re-Add the Song or Album

If just one song or album won’t play, try deleting and re-adding it. Sometimes a glitch like this will happen, and this will resolve it.

12. Uninstall and reinstall Spotify app

If all else fails, it might be possible to solve your problem by uninstalling the Spotify app and reinstalling it. This may eliminate any glitchy software that was interfering with your ability to use the app. Remember that you’ll need to sign in again using your account credentials.

To uninstall Spotify, press and hold its app icon until the quick action menu appears. Tap Remove App -> Delete App -> Delete to uninstall Spotify.

To reinstall Spotify, go to the App Store and tap the search tab (look for the magnifying glass icon) at the bottom of your iPhone’s display. Tap the search field and type in “Spotify.”

Finally, tap Get, then Install to reinstall the Spotify app.
