Pinterest not working on iPhone 13? Here’s how to fix it

Last Updated: May 8, 2022 by Dave Johnson

Is Pinterest not working on your iPhone 13? Get it back up and working in no time!

Pinterest is a visual discovery engine for finding ideas like recipes, home and style inspiration, and more.

With billions of Pins on Pinterest, you’ll always find ideas to spark inspiration. When you discover Pins you love, you can save them to boards to keep your ideas organized and easy to find. You can also create Pins to share your ideas with other people on Pinterest. With that in mind, we can understand how frustrating it can be when you have problems with Pinterest not working on iPhone 13.

This rarely happens, so it might come as a shock. An outage is often the cause, but it could also be an external problem. If Pinterest keeps crashing or not working on your iPhone 13, then find out here what you can do to fix the issue.

Note: information in this article apply to iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

1. Is Pinterest down?

If you find Pinterest not working on iPhone 13, the first thing to check is whether Pinterest is the only website having problems. Try accessing any other app, or open a browser and go into any other website. If everything else works, chances are Pinterest is down.

You can verify if Pinterest is down a couple of ways. Down Detector is a good tool to use. You’ll see a notice saying “possible problems at Pinterest” or “problems at Reddit” if the issue is widespread. You can also report issues. There’s even a live map that tells you if there are local issues with Pinterest.

2. Close and re-open Pinterest

If Reddit’s servers aren’t the problem, it’s time to see if your app or browser is the issue. Close the Pinterest app and re-open it to see if it gets all the gears in place. If you’re using a browser, close it entirely and open the website back up. If this doesn’t work, go ahead and move on to the next step.

3. Clear cache and browsing history in Pinterest

If you are scratching your head wondering “Why is Pinterest not working on my iPhone 13?” even after a force quit and restart? It seems you’ll have to look for more in-depth fixes. Simply do the following:

  1. Start the Pinterest app on your iPhone 13.
  2. Now, tap the Profile tab at the bottom right.
  3. Tap the tiny Settings icon at the upper right.
  4. Tap Privacy & data.
  5. Now, scroll down and tap Clear app cache to clean it up.
  6. Reboot your iPhone and open the app again. It should start working correctly.

4. Check for updates

While running a slightly older version of an app isn’t commonly an issue, sometimes changes can bring some problems. It’s always good to regularly update your apps, especially when you’re having issues with Pinterest app crashing on iPhone 13. Go ahead and check if there are any updates available from the App Store.

How to check for app updates on iPhone 13:

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Tap on your profile icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Check if your Pinterest app has an available update.
  4. Select Update next to it.
  5. Alternatively, you can also hit the Update all button to take care of everything at once.

How to check for iOS updates:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go into General.
  3. Select Software update.
  4. Follow instructions, if there is an available update.

5. Delete and reinstall the Pinterest app

Over time, the app collects and stores data on your device. This might include bugs in the code. Reinstalling the app can help get rid of those issues altogether.

  1. From the iPhone home screen, touch and hold the Pinterest app icon.
  2. A menu will appear on your iPhone screen with various options.
  3. Select Delete App > tap Delete to confirm the action.
  4. Launch the App Store > tap Search at the bottom right > type Pinterest and download the app.

6. Restart your iPhone

A simple restart can often fix issues, and the same applies when you have problems with Pinterest not working on iPhone 13. It’s like magic and seems to work most of the time, so give it a try!

7. Check your Internet connection

If the Pinterest app or website isn’t loading on your iPhone 13, make sure that there isn’t something wrong with your Internet connection. You can be facing problems with your Wi-Fi or mobile data plan. You can check if the connection is the issue by simply opening another site on your iPhone browser. If nothing loads, your Internet is likely the culprit.

Restarting the router usually does the trick. If that doesn’t work, check out how to fix iPhone 13 Wi-Fi problem here. You might also want to make sure that you didn’t forget to pay your bill, or that your internet service isn’t down.

If you’re using cellular data, you might want to see if your data connection is on:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go into Cellular.
  3. Toggle Cellular data on.

8. Contact app developer

If you’ve tried everything on the list and Pinterest is not working on iPhone 13, you can report the bug or problem to the devs directly.
