How to fix iPhone 14 Pro Maps when it’s not working

If iPhone 14 Pro Maps isn’t working, it’s likely to be an issue with the mobile app. If the Maps app on your iPhone 14 Pro crashes or has other problems that affect your experience on Maps, try the following solutions.

1. Close And Reopen Maps App

The first thing to try if Maps is not working on iPhone 14 Pro is restarting the app. While it’s uncommon, closing and reopening the Maps app can sometimes fix minor glitches that may cause the problem. Completely close the app, then tap its icon to start Maps again so that it re-syncs with Apple’s servers. This tends to solve the problem for most iPhone 14 Pro users.

swipe up from the very bottom to the center of the screen to open the app switcher. Once the app switcher is open, swipe the Maps app up and off the top of the screen to close it. Now that the Maps app is closed, go back to the Home screen and open it again. If it’s still not working properly, move onto the next step.

2. Turn off WiFi

If you connect to a Wi-Fi network, it is possible not to work or be too slow to load Maps. It’s time to switch to cellular data. Open the Control Center to quickly turn off Wi-Fi and make sure that the cellular data icon is toggled on.

3. enable Cellular data for maps

You have enabled Cellular data and your plan is active and have enough bandwidth left. However, the cellular option has to be enabled for individual apps in the Settings. Maybe, it is turned off for Apple Maps?

Open Settings > Cellular and toggle Apple Maps if not already so.

4. Enable location service for maps

We just saw how we have to enable cellular service individually for apps like Maps. The same goes for GPS too. You need to enable it along with few other options to allow Maps to do its thing.

Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Maps, and you will view three options. You need to select While Using the App.

5. Disable bluetooth

Bluetooth can be unreliable at times, especially when you need it to work the most. Disable Bluetooth if you are using it to connect to external GPS devices like Fitbit or even your car’s GPS unit. While not necessary, we would recommend you to relaunch the Apple Maps app once.

6. Update Your iPhone

Maps is a native iOS app, meaning it comes pre-installed on your iPhone 14 Pro. Native apps can only be updated by updating the iOS version on your iPhone. iOS updates contain bug fixes, one of which may help resolve the issues your iPhone 14 Pro Maps is currently experiencing.

Start the Settings app and tap General > Software Update. Tap Download and Install or Install Now if an iOS update is available. When the update is complete, open the Maps app and see if it’s working properly.

7. Force Restart Your iPhone

To force restart your iPhone13 Pro, press and release the volume up button followed by the volume down button. Finally, press and hold the side button. Release the buttons when the Apple logo appears on the screen. Check if you notice any improvements after force restarting your iPhone.

8. Reinstall Maps

Deleting the Maps app and downloading a new copy can give it a fresh start. Deeper app issues can be difficult to track down. Rather than trying to troubleshoot the issue, we’re going to completely erase what’s causing the error.

Step 1: Touch and hold the Maps app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap on the ‘remove’ icon at the top left to delete the app.
Step 3: Download Apple Maps from the App Store to reinstall.

Check if installing a fresh copy of Apple Maps solved the problem.

9. Reset network settings

iPhone users who are facing network-related issues should try resetting network settings on iPhone. This has nothing to do with your apps and data, and you can always take a backup on iCloud if you are worried.

Open Settings > General > Reset and select Reset Network Settings.

10. iPhone 14 Pro Maps still not working? Try these alternatives

If you find that none of the above solutions resolved Maps not working on iPhone 14 Pro issue or have to troubleshoot often, it may be worthwhile trying an alternative. If you need an app for auto navigation, install Waze. If you need directions for walking, bicycling, and public transportation, Google Maps is an excellent option.
